Has anyone had increased heart rate as a side effect from anastrozole?
Has anyone had increased heart rate as a side effect from anastrozole? I’m taking the generic version and have had spells of dizziness mostly during a hot flush.I must say I’ve felt better. I’m having a mastectomy on Wednesday with reconstruction. I’ve told the nurse who called me from the hospital surgery center when she called to go over my current medications. She said she’s flagging it for the anesthesiologist. I’m very worried as when I gave her my heart rate readings she asked if I have cardiologist. She may have just been asking and I might be reading too much into it. I’ve also just changed my BP meds because my heart rate was low because it’s a beta blocker. I think I’m going to call my oncologist on Monday. Anyone have any input?

That’s what I’m afraid of.
Has the increased heart rate subsided?
Yes, it has. It’s not as low as it was when I was taking the beta blocker but is in the normal range now. And I feel so much better. I didn’t realize how bad anastrozole made n me e feel. I spoke with my oncology nurse yesterday and she asked me if I’d try taking it again after my surgery. I told her I will give it another try. I just didn’t want to risk not being able to have the surgery and that I wanted to get it over with. Thank you for asking about it. Y’all help so much. I hate this disease.
Yes, it has gotten better, my heart rate is still a bit higher than what was normal for me. I do not have any proof that it was from the anastrozole, but it sure has made me wonder.
I just started my 5th month of Anastrozole. Minor side effects that are tolerable or able to mitigate with stretching etc.
that said, I innocently put the deep covid era pulse oximeter on my finger as I was cleaning out my bedside drawer and I noticed that my resting heart rate, which is typically 60, was 70! So I laid down to formally rest and it fluctuated between 66-75, mostly 70! I also noticed that my ear ringing sensation had returned … a lesser version but unpleasant nonetheless.
I don’t see the oncologist until October 3 but now I’m wondering if I should schedule a cardiologist appt. !

I had increased heart rate in the beginning. I started taking anastrozole in May and it got so fast it really frightened me. It went back down but not as low as before. I think it may have partly been anxiety from everything going on as well. Hope this helps and take care.
Thank you for your response. I started late April so we are basically on the same start timing. I hadn’t been measuring it at all but now I am. It may have been higher and now lowering. Hopefully it’s a short lived issue and will relax. But is is listed in side effects I now know. Best to you on this journey.
