Hello @lskoehl62,
While we wait for others in Connect to respond to your question, I wanted to share with you some information that I found on the NIH website about this problem. Here is the link,
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4733466/.
Here is another link to information from the Verywellhealth website, https://www.verywellhealth.com/portal-hypertensive-gastropathy-5201572#:~:text=Portal%20hypertensive%20gastropathy%20(PHG)%20refers,(scarring%20of%20the%20liver).
I'm wondering what symptoms you might have been having that led to this diagnosis? Did your doctor give you a treatment plan?
No treatment plan. Having trouble with bowels and have a history of fatty liver diagnosed in 2008. I have pain were my liver is located and just below sternum.
I am sorry to hear of the symptoms you are experiencing, @lskoehl62 . Have you been referred to a Hepatologist? This is a doctor who specializes in liver disorders. If you aren't seeing a hepatologist, I would suggest that you ask your current doctor for a referral to one so that you can be sure you get the best follow up care possible.
Is there a history of liver problems in your family?
No that I know of
@iskoehl62, I have not been diagnosed with it. I'm a big fan of magnesium, annatto tocotrienol and carnitine for general health. These links offer benefits for the liver to discuss with your doctor.
