What's outside of your picture window today?

This is what’s outside my window! We had a tree that started falling apart so we had it taken down before it could fall down (on our house!). Then this summer my husband hired a wood carver who found a fox and a raccoon in the tree! Our yard ends at the tree so all the park visitors think it belongs to the park.

@becsbuddy Beatiful! We have a madrone "stump" that is the remains of a lightening strike about 10 years ago. It is about 10" tall. We thought of having a wood carver do something with it. Since we live on a dead end street, no one goes by, so a carving would be "just for us", I am still toying with the idea of building a gnome/fairy village on this stump.

@becsbuddy, loribmt, @gingerw, and all...I adore your carving. What a marvelous way to turn sorrow of losing a tree to joy of releasing what's hiding in the tree. I'm a tree lover...would love to have the pleasure of such a treasure. Thanks for sharing, Becky.
