What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@loribmt, Thanks so much.
Challenging. Wonder why I'm still living in half renovated condo...?

This is "What's INSIDE my Picture Window Today"
Quite probably the longest-aged quilt in my history - made entirely out of fabrics in my stash. It took 3 years of hanging on the design wall for the ombre (variegated) fabric to decide what it wanted to be. Then another year for the print fabric to jump out of its bin and land on the table. And a full reorg of my quilt fabrics last Spring for all the other colors to join in. And a week or two to draw & finalize the design. Finally, 9 months from cutting to finishing - a marathon 12 hour day Tuesday of finishing the machine quilting, then hand binding.
Now I'm waiting for it to tell me where it wants to live!
Sue
Beautiful, Sue! Your patience paid off waiting for all the fabrics to come together! It’s gorgeous. It might not be speaking to you but it’s whispering to me that it wants to hang from my loft at the lake. I’ll even come and pick it up so it doesn’t have to arrange shipping. Hehe
Congrats on getting it finished!
Beautiful! Yes, fabric wants to hang around and play, not commit to a quilt, doesn't it?!
Will it whisper where it wants yo go, or shout out loud?
Ginger
Ginger & Lori - it does have to decide quickly, before my daughters & the boys see it. The 3 year old has once again reminded me he need a big boy quilt...but I think it's a little too pretty to be well used by kids and washed every week or two.
Maybe the bedroom needs to be redecorated.
Sue
@sueinmn, @gingerw, @loribmt, @artist01, and all...Oh, my goodness gracious, Sue! How 😍 lovely. This quilt speaks softly, carries a huge message and screams loudly...'I'm here...I'm beautiful, hear my roar.'
I love it. But, agree this lovely with such a personality, needs to be in your bedroom away from dirty hands.
Such talent and strength in you, lady.
Blessings, elizabeth
Okay, I'll work on figuring out some embellishments for one quilt that's basically done, except for the edging...seems too plain as a simple Irish Chain. Then I'll try to finally finish a big scenic one I've messed with for years. This is the view of Cascade Head I see when I hike about three miles north along a little spine of land between the ocean and part of the Salmon River basin. I need to add bits of white detail for the crests of waves and some accent trees, but have been reluctant to take the plunge! I fear ruining the entire quilt, so keep putting it off, plus there are all those swell volunteer activities I'm involved in, plus real work on a new book. That project is at the most exciting point: after over a year of editing, rewriting, and editing, etc., etc., we're ready to start arranging the stunning photos and text on the pages. We're trying to outdo the last really beautiful book we published, a tall hill to climb.
@sueinmn, @loribmt. @gingerw, @joyces, and all....OK, LADIES.. ridiculous! What are you taking? prednisone?
This in nuts...you can't have this much energy....
Sounds like my brain telling me what I'm going to do......just try to get the body to follow. Elizabeth
Oh deer, it's my 5:15 am security camera wake up in my front yard.
Super view 😀
