Good Morning all~
I would like to know if any of you have thought of or know about infrared light therapy for OA as well as other maladies.
I have OA in my knees..bone on bone and no inj. would help. Also have a compression fracture of my T-8, which gives me daily pain. I have been using a vibration plate for my bones..loving it! But would also like to do what I can about my painful back pain that would ameliorative and not be a script or OTC treatment..as the pain comes on intermittently...although quite extreme when it does come on.....everyday around 11am....then it's off and on all day long.

Best to you all....

Well, I did a lot of looking, and I can't seem to find any research-based information. Most of what is out there is either promotion or advertisement for those selling the devices.
There are a few anecdotal studies that seem to say "Yes, for some people, it helps." There is also limited information on the safety of the devices, and I do not believe they are regulated.
Is there a reason you do not plan to have the knees replaced? Bone-on-bone is not going to improve, this therapy would just be temporary relief.

You said you are using a vibration plate, and that you have compression fractures of your spine. It was my understanding that with compression fractures, using this is risky. Have you discussed it with your doc? Could it possibly be contributing to your back and knee pain?
