Thank you for your reply, yes exactly, I had the pains before my gallbladder was removed, however, I would experience the pains once or twice a month, due to where the pains were occurring they put it down to my gallbladder since they removed it I now experience the pains 5 or 6 times during the day and night and they are more intense. I have had two second opinions however the diagnosis and treatment they sent me has not worked.
I had gallbladder removed in 2007. No complications or pain, but about 6 years later, the pain returned and has continued intermittently ever since. It happens when I bend over or strain to pick up something on the floor. Recently it has become more frequent and lasts longer. My doctor ordered an ultrasound last year and told me that I have fatty liver, but I don't think that fatty liver causes this kind of pain.
Hi.
I am having the same issues.
I can not lay flat.
Sleep in my recliner most nights now, since Sept 2023.
Doc ordered gall bladder testing, came back lazy gall bladder.
I had been dealing with it for 6+ yrs.
Wanted it out
Doc sent me to surgeon, he ordered endoscope and colonoscopy.. before he would consider gall bladder.
I think the prep put my system in shock.
After endoscopy/ colonoscopy, surgeon said all clear there..
So, he was hesitant to take GB..
I told him I'd been dealing with it for 6yrs..want it out.
He said OK.
The nightmare began
Instead of an attack every 6-8months, now it's daily.
I vomited over 700 times in the first couple of weeks
Lost 23 lbs..
Weighed 95..
I felt like death.
At first, went to ER X 4..
Catscans x 4
Kept telling Drs about pain, they prescribed nausea med.
I vomited that..lol
Sent me to G I doc.
He wanted to put me through another colon prep..
I refused.
Family doc won't talk about it..
Treating myself for now..
Taking G I REVITALIZE that seems to help.
Pain is getting worse again..
I eat small healthy meals.
Sometimes they stay, sometimes not.
Popsicles work good..
I think because of the cold.
I hope you are better .
I am 64 yrs old..
Not looking forward to the next 10yrs if I can't get this fixed soon..
My hubby helps as much as he can, it's been hard.
I still work..
It's a challenge..
See ya
Please i need an experience that relates to mine n a possible advice...
I am a Nigerian who's suffered severe gut issues for over 7 years now n jus had a cholecystectomy on may 26,2025...
It all started March 2018 with symptoms as follows:
Constant abdominal tightness..
Gnawing abdominal tightness with cramps and aches..
Epigastric tenderness...
This was almost constant n i dread waking up every morning into these symptoms... Multiple tests including endoscopy was carried out n they revealed chronic gastritis or chronic gastroduodenitis n i had been confirmed h pylori free after multiple treatments but the symptoms persisted n progressively got worse over the years until limy bile cholelithiasis was diagnosed via a CT scan two years ago supported by ultrasound which stated contracted gallbladder casting posterior acoustic shadowing suggesting gallstones..Fast forward to two months ago,i had the surgery...
My symptoms seems worse with the same exact symptoms pre surgery n now i v noticed my inability to eat without or with eating n the burning n tightness with aches n cramps not subsiding despite many trials with diet n even the antacids n esomeprazole(nexium) given by the surgeon two weeks after my surgery n complaints...
I'm always fatigued n body aches n any form of stress mks it even worse...
Pls any one experienced these n how did you navigate through this torture...

Emma, did I understand correctly that you had these pains before the removal of your gallbladder, suspecting that its removal were resolve the pain. But now the pain is even worse and the cause remains undiagnosed? Have you considered getting a second opinion?
