The Mayo Clinic pain clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking volunteers with chronic back pain and depression or anxiety symptoms to potentially participate in an eight-month research study. We are conducting research on effective treatment interventions for patients who suffer from chronic low back pain and depression or anxiety symptoms.

You might be eligible to participate in this study if you are 18-75 years old, suffering from chronic low back pain for at least 6 months, and suffering from depression or anxiety symptoms. This eight month study includes four research visits to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, weekly online surveys about your pain, and physical therapy and antidepressant medication depending on your group assignment.

Not sure I meet all your your requirements, but had a mini stoke when I was 25 , put me on Xanax I guess to fool the brain to think didn't have one and seems like it worked , my back is shot L-1to L-7 from racing I suppose , and now cirrhosis, you guys could just fix me up lol . Well if there's anything I could help with be glad to ! Mike

I tried Mayo Rochester as a last resort and they couldn’t help any more than my primary care doctor. 2 weeks there in hotels for testing all at our expense that all had just been done in Michigan. No diagnosis and still in intolerable pain. Now my GI wants me to go to Cleveland Clinic. I am just way to done right now to start with yet another facility that is going to want to redo all testing. When in the heck can I get some or ANY RELIEF! Mayo didn’t even seem to try. So depressing.

You have to get there and make plans in hotels or some lodging to go. They pay no expenses.

I tried Mayo Rochester as a last resort and they couldn’t help any more than my primary care doctor. 2 weeks there in hotels for testing all at our expense that all had just been done in Michigan. I agree that the Cleveland Clinic would likely be a waste of time. For true neuropathy, treatment options are very limited in number and effectiveness. They are doing an extremely poor job in trying to come up with effective therapies. It’s almost as if they have lost interest in the 30,000,000 patients in the U. S. that have neuropathy.

I agree that the Cleveland Clinic would likely be a waste of time. For true neuropathy, treatment options are very limited in number and effectiveness. They are doing an extremely poor job in trying to come up with effective therapies. It’s almost as if they have lost interest in the 30,000,000 patients in the U. S. that have neuropathy.

I have neuropathy but went to mayo for severe abdominal pain hx pancreatic abcesses. It is GI that mayo has been no help. I have never seen them for neuropathy. My neuropathy is easily controlled with medications.

I happened to see your post and I am so sorry you are in pain and more than that , you feel you are not really heard .
Maybe you just need to talk to people in your area and find a good pain management . There are some out there that will help you . I will pray you find help and relief . I have definitely been in your shoes .

I changed pain management doctors in February and am very pleased with them. The doctor i was seeing never seemed too interested in pain pumps but only how many procedures they could do. My new doctor listens to me and thinks that the pain pump is the next logical step.

Oh I’m so glad for you . I am on Opioids and I as much as I hate the stigma , it was the only choice that worked at the time . Good luck !

I am interested in your study but I am 90 years old. I have serious low back pain that MAYO has been treating for many years. Also have the other symptoms

im also past the age 92 looks like not much can be fix at this age
