How long does a hematoma last in the arm?
How long does it take a large hematoma lump on your arm to subside after a fall? If the wound is closed but the lump and large discoloration remain can you play golf?

Everyone heals at different rates. Is the only pain from the wound or Does it feel like you sprained your arm or pulled a muscle?

Thanks. New doctor said it will take a month or more for the swelling to go down, but will just need to watch out for an infection. So should be fine in a month.

Glad you had a good doctor's opinion. I have always been slow to heal and as I have aged the time has extended. Sometimes it is hard for me to follow doctor's orders and that doesn't help. Try hard to behave and do all you can to heal properly.

I have had one on the top of my foot for 10 years. I ignore it.
I had a Hematoma (I’m on blood thinners) that occurred after a fall directly on my hip. It took 6 months for it to go from about 7 x 4 inches to a small quarter size. It was painful for a few months. My doctor ordered an ultrasound that showed that there were no other issues.
I was told that these may not resolve and if they are troublesome can be surgically removed.
Best wishes for your recovery. Jilly
Hello from Canada, I too am on blood thinners. I usually have , what looks like small hepatomas. I mention this to my doctor. She did not mention any problems. I just feel embarrassed and always wear long sleeves. I have them all over. They usually disappear with time. Best Regards, Jacqueline
