Description
All brain tumor survivors along with their caregivers, family, and friends are welcome to join our monthly support group. Individuals are encouraged to share ideas and gather support from others managing similar brain tumor issues. In this support group format everyone meets together initially. Time is then provided for patients to meet alone with other patients. Caregivers are offered the same opportunity. Brain Tumor Support Group meets virtually the third Saturday of the month beginning at 10:00 a.m. CT.

Are brain tumors always cancer ?
No, my sister had two different brain tumors and both were not cancerous. The first was the size of her fist and was removed via surgery. It was located on top of the brain, front center on the skull.
The second was located behind the left ear which caused her to to lose her hearing in that ear. As it progressed, it caused her to have seizures. It was diagnosed as “Anaplastic Astrocytoma”, a rare starfish shaped tumor that is aggressive. Details are to painful for me to explain and I’m crying right now but the one tentacle attached itself to her brain stem and killed her. She died 8:05am on February 10th 1989 at the age of 39.
My dilemma is the fact my own brain is in severe pain because all my doctors are saying it’s a tumor. As I type this I’m scheduled for 2 CT scans on Tuesday and 3 MRI’s very soon. My problem, I have precancerous cells that are trying to progress into a very rare form of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. If it does, I’m a goner. I have also been told it could be the AA tumor like the one that killed my sister since we share many genetic mutations. I was just at the hospital getting drained of 18 veils of blood for testing. My poor arms are a lovely shade of purple. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to unload on you but I’m very emotional when I talk about my sister. I hope I answered your question.
God love you it's so hard to lose a loved one.Your sister was blessed to be truly loved.
My prayer is that your test will turn out well and you will soon be without pain.
My grand nephew only 16 has a brain tumor this will be his fifth week of chemo.
He is being so brave. He is blessed to have a wonderful family. Please remember Daniel in your prayers.
