Myofascial pain syndrome
I am trying to cope with chronic pain and am not getting any compassion from my medical profession community. I was hoping to find some support online to share my story and not feel so alone.

I have Myofascial pain and have just finished 6 weeks of physical therapy sessions in which I do self Myofascial release exercises, strengthening and exercise, mostly at home. I take a daily antidepressant, Ibuprofen 2 x a daily, and ambien for sleep. I work full time as a Rsp teacher and am tired every day. The exercise helps some but spend my afternoon and evenings in pain. Any suggestions to help me feel better?
Hello, do you have Myofascial pain also.
I have myofascial pain as well. I take Lyrica, Flexeril to help relax the muscles, Vicodin for pain, and Ambien for sleep. I just started pain management last week, where he gave me injections in the trigger points and an epidural in my mid-back area. It really seems to be helping
. Where is your myofascial pain located at?
I have pain all over, hands, feet, upper, middle and lower back, buttocks, arms and legs. Even in my face! I am reading a book called, "the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook," by Clair Davies and trying to figure out where my trigger points are. I am also looking for a trigger point therapy specialist to help me out.
Any good pain management doctor should be able to find your trigger points. The one piece of advice that I would give you about pain management is that you have to focus on one section at a time. It takes time but it is worth it in the end.
My rheumatologist is going to find my trigger points when I see him this month, finally after 4 months, and may do trigger point injections. I am exercising, stretching, and self Myofascial therapy with a foam roller and feeling like I am going to be able to get better. Thinking positive!

i currently take tramadol and trazodone to sleep. i stretch and try to atleast walk daily but it doesnt help. ive tried injections, therapy, lots and lots of meds, accupuncture, etc. nothing seems to make it better or manageable. last year i found out about the mayo clinic and made an appt. took a while but i really feel it will help me.
Lots of people taking gabapentin, lyrica, etc but what about marijuana . I live in Canada and it will soon be a legal nonprescription drug. I am going to take it for the nerve and muscle pain as a result of a hip replacement.
