i have covid pneumonia. the covid cough is vicious because once it starts it hard to get it to stop and you feel like you are going to bust your ribs. i was given mucinex for every day and then a miracle pill call The Tessalon perl. this pill works in about 15 seconds and stops the cough in a heartbeat. the generic is benzonatate. its cheap. its a prescription. i carry one with ne everywhere i go. i recommend this miracle pill to everyone. it was given originally as part of the covid pneumonia protocol at the hospital. at the beginning of covid no one knew tgat cough would last for months after covid. unfortunately for patients who were not in the hospital the pill was not a known treatment. ask your doctor for a prescription. it makes a world of difference

I'm going to check into the Tessalon perl. The whooping cough/ mycoplasmic pneumonia episode left me with a kind of for lack of a better description, elevated cough reflex. My lungs are clear and there's no even scar tissue or any evidence that I had the pulmonary adventure. But, if an allergy or anything triggers a cough, it'll start a chain reaction of coughing. I compare it to when a few hiccups trigger a sense of hiccups and maybe its a muscle memory or spasm reflex.
