Bandit,
I had surgery a year and a half ago(robotic in March of 2021) a psma scan detected cancer in 1 lymph node. I started lupron a year ago July. I had 37 radation treatments in Oct/Nov fall of 2022 my psma scan indicated the lymph node. Ive been at 0.02 psa since January. I understand that is lowest possible reading. My gleason score(interesting word score!) is 9.
I received a .2 psa, 8 years post RP. My psa went to .3 a few weeks later and had the PSMA scan. They think they found it and radiated the area. The Radiologist said it was non-conclusive, but I think they believe that was it in the lymph mode. Unfortunately not where I was hoping, but hopefully they got it early, or they didn't really find it, but treated the entire area anyhow. My concern is micro-metastasizing. I went the 37 radiation treatments and have about 1 month to go on Orgovyx, 6 month total.
Hi, PSMA PET was done d/t psa .20, .24, .24; prostatectomy 8 yrs ago; psa didn't go up until 2023; Rad One suggested 8 weeks of radiation. Need to talk to him again. I'm thinking pelvis? What's your current status? Any treatment?
PSMA Pet is much more accurate in detecting cancer outside the prostate than Bone or MRI. I had done extensive research before I saw oncologist or radiologist and knew I wanted PSMA. Because wait time to obtain Pet was 2+ months, went ahead with bone and MRI since those could be scheduled quickly. Radiologist indicated that bone and MRI would not have been necessary had PET been available quickly. Happy I did all! Also, had Decipher genetic test which I would highly recommend if your insurance will cover. Best to you!
