What is Stapedectomy Recovery like?

I assume you have otosclerosis in the left ear. Me too! However instead of a stapedectomy I had a stapedotomy in 2011 (they drill little hole and put in little device vs, replacing stapes). My hearing improved immediately and has remained stable with only typical hearing loss with age. I had no issues after surgery.
What does your doctor/surgeon say about this? We are not many that have this type of problem and surgery.

Hi vic83. I just had a stapedotomy this morning. Surgeon said I repeated word he whispered in my ear (I remember repeating but thought he said out loud so my good ear heard). I’m at home but I can’t hear on the bad side. When packing comes out will that make a difference?
