I feel your pain I have been there with the tight band….. tight band feeling gone still have no flexion…, I received same response from my dr it’s my fault not working hard enough etc….needless to say after that conversation with him I started looking for my own answers ….. scar tissue I did mfr massage I believe that is what truly helped with the tight band feeling …. I have been doing mfr for many months now although very costly and trust me I buy no means have money but with help from my daughter I am doing…. It has been so beneficial in the tight band recovery for me …. But like I said I still have no flexion I also seeking second opinion I go may 3 ….. I am telling you this because I want you to know I totally understand …. But I want to say don’t give up…. I know some days I have felt like why am I doing all this nothing last pain comes back knee tightens again . Swelling ughhhh….. I do again because I have to believe that it will all click …. But I am always in search of new things on the net ….. I refuse to believe this is as good as it gets ….. so if you have not Tried water therapy it good to start there ….. usually when I go there i get some relief …..but for me mfr with pool has helped so much ….. although I am still in pain I don’t have the tight band that I had right after surgery . I hope your second opinion gives you more insight into why not working and still in pain , please let me know…. I be praying for you as myself we find right dr to help us be rid of this pain and make us mobile again….
I am getting second opinion on Tuesday I will let you know how it goes….. I have experienced so much of the same …. I think I may have suggested to you water therapy and mfr it is life saver for me …. It did not fix what I think is something wrong but it helps with the pain …. Definitely easier moving in pool… I am done with water therapy but I am fortunate they let you pay 50.00 for 12 visits to pool so I will continue my therapy there … I do everything my self now which is fine my therapist taught me well I just miss the bend she gave me…. Hurt like heck had to walk it off but felt better afterwards….I don’t know where you are but check around for some places that offer water therapy….
Hello , I am so sorry you are going through this. I have had TKR 3 years ago and 7 weeks ago they reopened the knee to do the kneecap. I also am having similar issues this time around. Docs all say push harder on the PT. I’m always in pain and feel worse off than before. My advice is to take on day at a time, DONT BLAME YOURSELF. Do the best you know how and don’t give up on finding someone who will listen and help your situation. God bless and take good care! 😊
Unfortunately, it could be a few things. I'm in your same boat 2 years later. Try getting tested for arthrofibrosis. It could be scar tissue (which is what I think I have). What works best for me is myofascial release performed by a physical therapist. I've had dry needling, cupping and am now using water therapy. It is easier to walk and exercise in water. Some of us are just more prone to forming scar tissue than others. Don't accept the answer that they normally give "wait a year and it will get better." It probably won't. Find a good PT that can perform MFR and see if that helps you. Keep us updated and don't give up hope. Prayers for you that you find an answer.
