Question about Ovarian cystology

Hey Guys,

I have a question about my Ovarian cystology. This has been done during my teens a few years ago and not at mayo nor the USA. But my uncles says mayo is the best clinic in the USA so I wanted to ask this.
At that time I was hospitalized for appendix reasons and got a keyhole surgery done. During that operation my doctors removed a lutein cyst or something like that (it seems it was on my falopian tubes), that was supposedly bleeding into my stomach area, I didn’t know anything about it i only consented for appendix surgery.
After having watched a female Yotuber having trouble getting pregnant after having her cyst removed as well as having read articles about decline of egg reserves after surgery, I got really scared. I have had check ups with my gynecologist and she says everything is working fine.
But I am still scared 🙁

Did this kind of operation really damaged my ovary?

Some ovarian cysts can be associated with decreased fertility, but not all types. It depends on the type of ovarian cyst you had. Catzlover, what type of cyst did you have removed?

I think a Lutein cyst. It has supposedly bursted and was bleeding into my intestines. They thought my appendix was problematic first. I only remember having had pain and slight smeary bleeding even thought not having my period at that time. Thank you Ms. young for answering.

I think a Lutein cyst. It has supposedly bursted and was bleeding into my intestines. They thought my appendix was problematic first. I only remember having had pain and slight smeary bleeding even thought not having my period at that time. Thank you Ms. young for answering.

According to the article I included in my previous post, luteum cysts, a type of functional cysts, generally don't affect fertility. Here's an excerpt:

"Functional cysts. Functional cysts — such as follicular cysts or corpus luteum cysts — are the most common type of ovarian cyst. Functional cysts form during a normal menstrual cycle and don't cause or contribute to infertility. In fact, functional cysts actually indicate that the necessary functions leading to fertility are taking place."

@catzlover, are you trying to conceive at this time?
