Gel (visc) injections for arthiritis in knees
Has anyone on here had the gel injections? If so, which brand, how many and how were the results? Thank you, Judy

Hello @kathleenanne1
I have had the gel injections in both knees, at separate times, and found it helpful. My knee problems were a result of arthritis and not a result of a severe injury like you experienced. If you are experiencing serious pain, it certainly might be worth a try.
Are you inclined to give it a try?
What exercises were you given? I wasn’t given any. Here in Clearwater FL after living in NY for 40 yrs, my Lyme infectious doctor said we are in a sub standard area but thinks Tampa might be better.
Exercises ???? I am curious. Thx.
I was going to do these however it costs $250 and my Dr. told me with my advanced arthritis that it's a 50/50 shot if they work. He said that work better for mild to moderate arthritis. I'm seeing a different Dr. and asking his opinion as my left knee hurts and is worse at night.
No exercises after knee gel injections and it worked just fine !
For myself, gel knee injections where briefly helpful, but wore off in a few months.
Then I recommend you try Voltaren cream for rubbing on the outside of the knees. And if you can get to an exercise back, preferably a recumbent design, do that at a speed you can tolerate for a few minutes a day.
I have had patellofemoral pain syndrome (osteoarthritis) in both knees for many years.
I also have had injections of
3 ml of Gel-One in each of my knees every six months for many years. The results, in my case, have been reduced pain symptoms for most of the 6 months, at which time the knees begin to ache again.
My sports medicine doctor uses ultrasound to precisely place the Gel-One with the tip of the needle confirmed to be in the suprapatellar recess.
