Hi @rivermaya34, I understand missing that feature that you could read the message in its entirety within the notifications window. That was convenient and I'm getting used to the benefits of the new system too.
Benefits include:
- As new comments are added to the same discussion, they are added to the same notification. You can read where you last left off.
- This allows you to see the comments in the stream of the conversation. You can see who has replied, who has not received a reply, etc.
- This creates a group conversation, like we're sitting around the kitchen table.
- Rather than replying to or reading only one post at a time, members can see the context of the conversation with the other comments.
Our motivations for the improvement is to create community and to benefit from knowledge and experience of many.
Later this month, we will be adding a sort feature, so that you can sort by notification type. For example, you will be able to sort by @mentions to focus on all notifications specifically adressing you. Or you can select all your messages that have received a reaction and see where your posts have made an impact on others by being liked or marked as helpful. Or perhaps members are sending you support in the form of a virtual hug when times are rough.
Thanks for your feedback, Mayo. Do you primarily use onsite notifications? Or do you also use the Daily Digest?
