What's your review of Cochlear Osia 2 System?

@thomashaus

I have bilateral otosclerosis and failed stapedectomy surgery. My nerve conduction is near normal. My ENT doctor is suggesting unilateral Osia 2 BC implant. My question is, since my hearing loss is bilateral, would it be appropriate to have bilateral bone conduction hearing aids implants. Thanks for any input you can provide.

Hi @thomashaus, I moved your question to this existing discussion where members are talking about the Osia 2 system. I'm hoping fellow members like @edemmenegger @sam2678 @rjinla @julieo4 @nat2021 @lmayo @paulmonday @tinytoon31 may have some thoughts on your question about bilateral hearing loss and unilateral Osia 2 implant.

Howdy. My doctor actually recommended doing one side first, and waiting a year or two before deciding on the second one.
I also have bilateral hearing loss, but so far, the single Osia 2 is enough for me.

Hi @thomashaus -- I'm not sure about your specific situation, but there is a woman on TikTok who has had Osia implants put on both sides of her head, so it is an option if your doctor thinks you're a good candidate. I found her videos when I was searching for info about the Osia. I found her by typing "Osia 2" into the TikTok search bar.
