I was euphoric the first week off. Then I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible Dry Mouth, Burning Tongue, and Receding Gums. This happened all of a sudden. Its as though I am going through WITHDRAWAL. When I told my Dr. that I realized I was being tapered for 2mg of Lorazepam when it should have been 6mg, he said you should see your Dentist. Nothing else, no I"m sorry let see if there is anything we can do about what you are going through. Same response from my Psychiatrist, no one taking responsibility. I read this could happen when switching to a longer half life of a Benzodiazepine which Clonazepam is compared to Lorazepam. They mess up the equivalent in MG'S. I am going to be 79 in 2 months and am very scared about my future, never, ever felt anything like this before. I am back worse then when I started the Taper. I was prescribed Lorazepam for RLS and it worked immediately. But you must know after researching that being on a Benzodiazepine for we'll over ten years is DANGEROUS, IT IS FOR SHORT TERM USE ONLY. No nothing else helped with RLS, it has come back, I rub VOLTAREN GEL and it helps, not as much as it should because it inso long prescription strength.
