Has anyone had a 5.5cm tumor on chest wall and it shrank with chemo or was it removed surgically?
Were you metastatic at the time?

That is a pretty specific ask, let me break it down into pieces. Every cancer is different and every woman is different and cancer gets discovered at different stages. It sounds like maybe this is your specific cancer. This had to be a great stressor to you.
I did have a similar cancer er+ Her2+, on the chest wall. It was not metastatic at that time, but being on the chest wall it was a difficult cancer.
Since your question seems pretty specific, can I ask what kinds of questions you are trying to get answered? Has your doctor talked to you about a plan yet? I did notice you also asked a question about a clinical trial in another question, is that an option for you?
Yes, there are clinical trials available to me. I was curious about the removal of it on the chest wall because my Onc has not mentioned surgery of any kind right now. Yes, I do know that every woman is different, every cancer is different and chemo affects everyone different. I just wanted to see if there someone with a similar tumor on the chest wall and how it was treated.
I can’t speak to your cancer, only my own. My surgeon removed the top half of my breast and scraped the tumor from the chest wall and rib. Then I took chemo, then radiation, then tamoxifen, and more chemo, and anastrazole and……………….
The problem is that I was diagnosed when herceptin was not approved for frontline therapy, only for relapsed. There are a host of treatments available today that were not even thought of yet in 2004.
I only ask about if you have some specific questions to try and make sure that you are getting the appropriate support here. You asked if other people were metastatic at diagnosis. This could affect any surgical plan, are you MBC at diagnosis?
According to what you have described, it is most likely bone metastasis from your original breast cancer. The original breast cancer could be a type that starts metastasis to bone tissue in its early stage. Treatment of this kind of breast cancer should be from specific chemotherapy, surgery is not a option except for life saving.. The other option can be, I read from scientific report, try EZH2 shRNA combined with MSK1 and GATA3 gene products for treatment.
@mssewest I was thinking of you today and was wondering how you are doing? I know this is a very hard time and you are going through a lot. Have you gotten more answers yet? Treatment plan?
