I am only recently diagnosed with GP. 58 yrs trying to find out what works in a diet and what doesn't. Unfortunately the only way to find out what is tolerated is by trying it an seeing what happens as far as symptom's. I wondering why go dairy free ? is it because of bloating, gas what symptoms were you having. The biggest issues I face so far are terrible heartburn with mild bloating and feeling of fullness. I would be curious if you had tried lactose free dairy? I try to eat some greens, like spinach but cooked. Do you find that salads wont digest ? or is the gas that is produces painful symptoms and thats why you avoid them ? My doctor has me on domperidone 10mg 3 times daily. That seems to help with digestion and walking yes I would agree that does help a lot. One of my challenges is not to eat to much bread.

I have GP and one thing for sure that you cannot eat salad nor can you eat any raw veggies or fruit. You can eat bananas, peeled apples, canned peaches made into a smoothie. No wheat, rye or any breads other than white bread. You can have smooth creamy peanut butter (if you make your smoothie, throw in a big spoon of creamy peanut butter to give you more protein. You can have plant butter, almond milk and ice creams that are non dairy. No dairy products.
Baked fish and chicken. Nothing fried unless you coat it in gluten free flour or meal and cook in plant butter. Put a lid on if you fry in this method, add a bit of water and let it steam until soft.
When your symptoms lessen, you can try gluten. I have also been sugar free for 3 years, using only Stevia.
You can have baked white potatoes with plant butter and baked sweet potatoes with plant butter, Truvia (Stevia’s name for brown sugar) and some cinnamon.
Eat French style green beans ( no bean in it) canned carrots, canned peaches in light syrup and canned apples as long as no peeling on them. Do this for a year and you should have much less pain.
I found babyfood pouches are a good way to get my veggies. Fats make things slow down. Smoothies with nondairy milks and fruits, I have also found I have lost sensation in my stomach so I can't tell how much I have eaten until it is too much and I get pain. So I graze all day. Good luck!

Yes thats makes sense. For me I'm having trouble getting enough calories in a day. it was suggested to me to try drinking ensure which is dairy to help get the protein and extra calories in. The GP diet is not very nutritious, I'm having trouble maintaining weight. Having trouble with heartburn after drinking it, was wondering if you or anyone else have had experience with ensure products. Need to try an find solutions to add good fats and calories to medicate my weight.
Dairy Free if lactose intolerant…..There is a test Mayo can do to see if you are lactose intolerant….. If you are dairy can cause bloating, diarrhea, gas etc…..

I found out that Ensure is lactose free, i don't get any of theses symptoms I'm going to try an introduce that into my diet and see how I tolerate it. Also I found a milk product that is lactose free" Fair Life" products are lactose free. They come in no fat 1% which seems to fit in the diet as well. AL thought I do take a multi vitamin, I still need to find natural way to get vitamins like calcium. The GP diet is so low in nutrition and getting older I an concerned about bone health and getting enough vitamin "D". Thank you for all the input, I will post back how it goes with trying these dairy products.
I don't eat any fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts, high fiber also the only meats I eat are fish chicken and hamburger. Also you should eat small amounts several times a day. I drink Ensure and I just started something called Juice Plus. You can get all your vegetables and fruits in either capsule form or gummies. I chose gummies because the capsules might be hard to digest. I have had a gastric pacemaker since 2012 and it has helped so much! Hope this info helps. Kathy

I had thought about the Gastric Stimulation implant. Can you eat more foods with the implant and have you been able to gain weight?
