Is body pain, dizziness, and acid reflux normal with SFN?
For those of us with SFN, does anyone else experience body pain and dizziness? My understanding is that it is supposed to affect the hands and feet. I am experiencing awful chest and flank pain, dizziness and acid reflux. I constantly feel like I have a lump in my throat. ENT says likely Laryngo-Pharyngal Reflux (silent reflux). My neuro says this is all part of SFN, but as I look across the posts in this community I feel like I am an outlier.

You are not alone
I have painful neuropsychology and also have acid reflyx. I have only been b given Tylenol 3 with Codeine. This us not helping the pain and numbness in my feet and legs. U have had this for years. I never have a good nights sleep
Sorry, many mistakes in my typing above.
Hello @jeanallen, Welcome to Connect. I'm sorry to hear that you have not found a treatment that is helping with the pain in your feet and legs. Have you been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy?
No. I have only been seeing a pain management P.A.Could you give me some advise what kind of doctor should I see? Thanks
@jeanallen, Normally a neurologist is the type of doctor that diagnoses neuropathy. If you have not been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy and the pain management is not helping, it might be helpful to seek a second opinion for a diagnosis and treatment that helps with your pain. Here are a couple of sites that provide good information about neuropathy:
-- Neuropathy Commons: https://neuropathycommons.org/neuropathy/neuropathy-overview
-- Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy - Treatments: https://www.foundationforpn.org/treatments/
Have you thought about seeking help or a second opinion at a major teaching hospital or health facility?
Please seek a 2-3 opinion. Your pain on the hands and feet are caused by my neuropathy. Ask the Network here at Mayo. Spend time reading and asking those leading each science.
Click neuropathy. See how this differs.
Pain killers as you are taking… well ? I say keep asking for alternatives.
Iam one with Neuropathy of 15* yrs and found a treatment I never heard or been advised until I stated reading MAYO CLINIC NETWORK.

Hi, I have neuropathy in both legs. Two things have helped me. Gabapentin and Duloxitine. My dentist told me about Duloxitine which was added on about a year ago and has helped a lot. My neurologist was not helpful but I have a great rheumatologist who helps with my pain management. I started seeing her for my RA. I hope you can find a doctor like her who listens and cares. Best wishes for help with your neuropathy.
Yes yes thank you for the direction.
Ps
How about a 2 week trip to CANCUN, RIGHT!!!
🥰 a mindset can help.
Will be in looking out for us
Blessings
Unfortunately, you are not an outlier. My SFN started in my left foot and progressed up my legs (left more than right) and then to shoulders, back, neck, fact etc. Now my digestive system is being impacted -- (probably some gastroparesis) along with gastro reflux and nausea. My blood pressure and heart rate are also impacted. Unfortunately, this is a common trajectory. And, I don't know what helps.
