There are lots of creams, talk to your dermatolagist
That’s exactly what I’m going through! For some reason I didn’t connect it with PMR until just now. It’s only my forearms and tops of my hands but it looks absolutely awful. My daughter bought me some long protective fingerless gloves and a tube of special cream that’s supposed to help fragile skin but I’ve only been using both for a few days so can’t really know yet if either or both are helping.
Also, I have a giant breed puppy that’s very playful and as anyone knows who has ever raised a puppy, biting your hands is one of their favorite things. So that’s not helping matters.
This was way back but yes I do! My forearms and the tops of my hands are awful. I can't wear short sleeves out anywhere because people stare at me. So in hopes when I finally taper back down below 7-8 it will get better.
I empathize! The backs of my hands and forearms are constantly dotted with ugly bruises. And the thinness of skin means my arms and hands would be good to study for anatomy class - the veins are so prominent and ropey. The slightest bump or minor abrasion is on full display. I have yet to find anything that helps. Tapering and I'm at 8mg. Not improving with the taper.
I am also worried about the thin skin. I am 59 and had very good young looking skin prior to this. I did alot of research and believe we need Retinoids, topical Vitamin C, E and collagen suppliments. So that’s what I’ve started to use. I am going to Dermotologist tomorrow and will ask.
