i'm sorry, this won't be particularly helpful, but yeah, it's a whole grieving process honestly. everything i heard after experiencing sshl was that after 3 days, it was too late to do anything. my ENT put me on two weeks of high-dose steroids anyway, to no avail. my sshl came with a whopping tinnitus onset so it all took getting used to. but over time you will. cochlear implants are definitely an option to regain that hearing though. i've elected to go with the bicros hearing aid which brings what you're missing from the deaf ear over to the good ear. i wish you luck on this journey.
