Lower right abdominal pain
I started having a pretty dull pain in my lower right abdomen it stays for a few seconds and goes away and comes back after a bit. It’s very tolerable I’m just wondering what it is. I had a ultra sound at the gynecologist yesterday and they said everything looked normal. I do have acid reflux and I’ve been burping and a little gassy for the past few days which i'm not sure that has anything to do with it I just want to mention everything just in case. I don’t think it’s appendicitis since I don't have any other symptoms like vomiting, nausea, poor appetite, etc. I tried pressing down on the area as well I don’t really notice any rebound pain.

Hello, so I have been experiencing a lower right abdominal pain for months now. I am a 18y/o F and I have been to the ER the first day I felt the pain thinking it could be an appendicitis but they said they found nothing , I then followed up with my general practitioner who couldn't figure it out and then sent me to my OB who checked and found nothing abnormal and then sent me to a gastroenterologist who also did not seem to have any answers for me. I have been experiencing this pain for over 6 months now and no one seems to have an answer for me so I wanted to reach out on here and maybe someone has an idea. The pain feels like a runners cramp and is exaggerated when I walk for a long period of time and it gets progressively worse when any more rigor is added to the routine such as working out or jogging. It is rather low in my side and tends to only stay on the right side. Thank you!!
@barkbarkbark1 and @jaydencross, You guys seem to be experiencing similar pain, so I thought you might like to meet each other to discuss. Are either of you having other symptoms besides pain?
@jaydencross - It sounds like chronic appendicitis to me. Have you had an abdominal ultrasound! Here’s something I read:
https://www.healthline.com/health/chronic-appendicitis
I get similar pain in my lower right side after certain activities that involve my abdominal muscles. I went through all the tests that you have.....trans-vaginal ultrasound, colonoscopy, blood work for appendicitis, etc. Nothing showed up so my pcp sent me to a surgeon to see if he could find a hernia. He ordered a CT scan and it came back with the diagnosis of right-sided iliopsoas bursitis. This was back in 2019 and although I am still living with the pain when I do more work/exercise that involves my abdominal muscles, I can deal with the side effects by taking a pain reliever and resting with a heating pad on the area of the pain. There are other solutions to the pain that were offered to me, but, I am in my 70's and decided to opt out of them. Have you been examined for an inguinal hernia? Have you had a CT scan? Perhaps you might ask for that. I hope you find a diagnosis and then an answer for the relief of your pain. Don't give up looking.
It is good that you are in this forum and I hope find a doctor who can accurately diagnose your problem. In the meantime, please Google by each symptoms you have. Print or note what you find and discuss with your physician. Also, go to YouTube. There are many video. Watch them and try to relate them to your problem. Educate yourself because you know your body more than anyone else. Good luck.
I had right lower quadrant abdominal pain for 4 years until it became an acute appendicitis needing surgery. Our bodies are a mystery. Hope you get an answer soon.
I am not having any other symptoms that correlate with appendicitis at-least not that I can tell. The pain is still dull, pretty localized and it comes and goes randomly throughout the day. I haven’t really noticed any patterns. I don't know who I am supposed to go to about this problem.
I had a partial colan removal 6 months ago. I have had lower right adominal pain ever since. I have been back to the sergon and had a colonospy and a cat cacn and he said all looks good.I noticed it hurts more as the day goes on. I also feel like it is at at my connection sites. anyone elso have this problem? Vicki
Update: Before when I wrote about this I wasn't having any pain when pressing on the lower right quadrant. Today I hadn’t felt any of the dull pain i’d been feeling. I decided to press on the area and there is some pain not after I press it just while i’m pressing it.
Does it hurt to sleep on your right side?
