Are you saying the D3 helps? I have hand and arm pain in my right extremity and it is getting worse. I do see a opthomologist and will ask him about this as I have been getting cortisone shots in my shoulder.....arthritis? This all started 6 months ago and is getting worse.

D3 doesn't really help muscles and soft tissue cramps, but magnesium does. For longstanding pain in your arm and wrist/hand, visit an Orthopedic and get images and referral to PT. They may offer a shot, and that is ok, but it only lasts so long. While it is in effect, the physical therapy can help loosen and strengthen your arm and hand, so I suggest that you follow up with that. If you spend time at a desk, make sure you are not sitting with rounded shoulders, that the desk is the right height and that your feet sit on the floor or a stool.

Vitamin D is a hormone, but is referred to as a vitamin. It helps in how our bodies absorb the vitamins and minerals that help our muscles and other parts of our bodies. I ask my doctor sometimes to check my magnesium.. usually he will check my potassium, D-3, iron, and B-12 without me asking. My insurance pays, but some insurance companies may not.

It sounds like whatever you have going on should be evaluated by a orthopedist. You should not be getting frequent injections. .. I think recommended is 3 a year of steroid, but sometimes they inject anti-inflammatory medication. Make sure you know what they are injecting.

Pain down the arm can be caused by problems of the neck or shoulder .. most often the neck. The ulna nerve .. funny bone … can also cause pain in the arm and effects the little finger, ring finger and thumb and make gripping something like nail clippers difficult. If needed get a second opinion on what is going on with you.

Did you mean to say orthopedist instead of opthomologist? If so that is fine… I sometimes can come nowhere close to the word I mean.

I am always glad to help find answers to questions. Sometimes I come across things I never heard of … but have been through so much I know a little of this & that. I never heard of this bruising happening with a sprain.. so I learn something through others too.
