More and more I know that I have to take major control of my health and check everything doctors prescribe. Of course I believe they're the professionals and respect the science, but so often they miss something that affects me personally. So now I read every single and come prepared with questions.

The best advice I have read other than the Ashton Manual is "if you withdraw off Benzodiazepines it has to be very slowly and only YOU know if it is too fast. Should you start feeling any bad affects go back and do in low increments. I was down to .25 forever and my PSYCHIATRIST SAID .25 is a low dose just stop it you might feel bad for about 3 days. No chance, I went down to .125 for two weeks and I am now ready to go down 1/2 again. I was on .50 for 6 months and all I wanted was off drugs. I started tapering myself. I went down to .125 in the morning for 2 months. Felt fine, stayed there for 2 months then cut in 1/2 again. The first time I tried to go down from .5 to .125 I felt very jittery, I waited another 1/1/2 months and tried again and I felt fine. Only YOU KNOW if it's right. Very difficult when you start to second guess your Doctor.
