@windyshores

I have been on Tymlos for 5 months but I started at 1/4 then 1/2 dose for the first month or more. Yes there are side effects but they improve over time. I suggest you google all the medications and learn about them. Biphosphanates like Fosamax (oral) and Reclast (IV), like Prolia, suppress bone turnover. However drugs like Forteo and Tymlos actually grow bone (but don't suppress turnover, so bone quality is good). Evenity does both. You also need to check insurance coverage - you may be eligible for Tymlos, Forteo or Evenity now that you have "failed" Prolia. But your choices also depend on what your bone density score is. You haven't told us how severe your osteoporosis is.

reply to windyshores, Thank you so very much for your response. My Osteoporosis : Dual Femur T -3.4, AP Spine T -2.2 Osteopenia, Left forearm radius T -5.6 Osteoporosis. Note states, At high risk for fracture without impact. I am trying to gather all of the wisdom I can before I have to make a decision on March 21st. I have appointments with my Endocrinologist, Oncologist ( I see this doctor because I have a T cell gene rearrangement for monoclonal population )my Neurologist, and my Pulmonologist before March 21st. However, every one of these doctors told me that Prolia was absolutely the best Osteoporosis drug to take, before I got my first injection. I don't expect to escape all side effects, but my experience with Prolia (second injection) were severe for eight weeks. I was told that Prolia was the best choice because it has 15% fewer side effects than any of the other choices. This really frightens me. Again, I really appreciate any information you can give me.
