@loribmt, @sueinmn, @johnbishop, @IndianaScott, and all...Good news, Lori. Glad to know you're becoming less of a snowbird and more of a convert. It is wonderful to be in the sunny, warm Florida tropics during these months of frozen toes and fingers and noses. The frozen areas are so beautiful and interesting, especially since I haven't lived in snow country since NC mountains when I was a child. We used to ride our horses down the hills to the small town to pick up milk or whatever since the cars were grounded. I loved it, but even lthen and as an adult visitng, the cold was never my friend. I think the good Lord knew just where to plant my feet, in the dirt and sands of Florida.
Interesting, in Jacksonville, Februray is usually still pretty chilly but in late Feb and March the azaleas are in fulll bloom, a true signal of the beauty and color and flowers ahead. So, you'll be joining us soon in Feb. I think you have the best of all worlds, Lori. Glad you like your Florida visits. We love our 'snow-bird' visitors, generally. You add to our economy, rent our condos and homes and often have a final sale for a permanent retirement. But, some can be irrritating or demanding, those are welome to come and spend their money at Disney World and such, but scoot on home to the cold.
Our real estate values have gone out of sight the last several months. I have a friend who sold her condo, put it on the market one day at a good asking price, had 4 buyers bidding over tthe place and sold at $50k over asking price. She's buying a house today. Amazing.
Glad all are well and happy. We're ok currently. Rob is ckg with his neurologist at Mayo re the deep brain stimulation surgery, to see if he qualifies. And, the surgery to cut the nerve from the cervical vertebrae down his shoulder and left arm. He's willing to have no use of the arm in order to stop the pain. He can't use it now due to the pain, so, we'll see what they say. He's had 18 years of this, so it's time to take whatever steps possible to make it better and give him a few better years.
I'm perking along the same roads.
Blessings to all. elizabeth
