I've never had a problem with salads. Scrupulous with washing and a salad spinner and/or brush to clean everything. In some cases, soaking veggies is useful. Rinsing repeatedly. There are so many different salads too. Not just romaine or iceberg, but broccoli, raisins, nuts in mayo/yogurt dressing. Fruit salads too with avocados. As for fruit, some people rinse them in vinegar. Others spray the fruit and rinse. With berries I rinse and air dry before I put them in the fridge. A vinegar rinse was recommended when I had chemotherapy five years ago at Mayo. Others remove the skins of apples, pears to get rid of the pesticides too. Or you can go the organic route and pay somewhat more.
