Hi Colleen, I submitted my question but will repeat it here. I noticed Dr. Poland said he had two Thanksgiving turkeys. So I deduce he had a Thanksgiving dinner (or two) with friends and family. What measures did he take re masking, social distancing, quarantine, testing for those who gathered together? We're both vaccinated and have had our boosters and have four adult children coming home for the holidays, all vaccinated and some able to get boosters already. Do they need to quarantine before arriving, wear masks indoors, eat in socially distanced ways, test themselves daily, etc? Some will be going to parties where everyone attending will be screened for vaccination status a few days before coming to see us.

A timely question, @jsakell. Dr. Raymund Razonable, a Mayo Clinic infectious diseases physician, answered some of these questions in this article and video.

It sounds like you are following the primary recommended guideline ensuring that all attending guests and hosts are fully vaccinated, including boosters where eligible. Testing prior to getting together adds an extra layer of insurance. After testing avoid public places, and if you have to have to go, make sure you wear your mask. And of course, washing hands often also helps.

Does anyone in your family have a health condition that require extra precautions?
