Hi I have been in antidepressants for the past 20 years I’ve been on effexor, dint work Venlafaxin, dint work sertraline 100 mg it’s been working plus I take clonazepam 2mg and I been fine, I think you need to change your psychiatrist I change mine two times.
I was given Paxil when I was first diagnosed with anxiety. It had a horrible effect on me. I felt very manic. I was taken off of it in less than a week. Since then I've tried effexor which worked very well for me. I stopped it cold turkey and had withdrawals that landed me in the er and since I was days off of it I basically had to sit through the withdrawal. I was then put on prozac and it has been the best for me to date. I feel really good with minimal anxiety and 0 panic attacks. I hope you get to feeling better very soon. You don't deserve what you're going through. I hope your dr will listen to you and give you reassure that he will try and help you get better. A lot of times it's about trial and error. It could be a mixture of things making you feel this way. Take care and don't give up!
Let me start by saying that I'm not a doctor or qualified clinician. Until you talk with your doctor, I suggest not tapering any further.
You mentioned in your first post that you are reluctant to go into rehab because you fear that you would have to taper too fast. Remember that YOU are in control. As much as you don't feel like you're in control right now. I know. But you are the expert in you. You know how you are feeling. And you can say when the taper is too much or too fast.
Is your doctor usually good at returning your calls? Do you expect to hear by tomorrow?
