Hi, I travel up there. You will need to book a hotel. They have one right in the same complex as the hospital buildings. And have several real close.
Wait to see what time your appointment will be and if they will schedule any other tests while you are there.
Once in the Mayo complex. It is very easy to find the building you will go to. The signage and buildings are all well marked.

I am sorry to be late in answering. I have not had appointments in the neurology department … only gastroenterology and surgical. When talking with the schedulers we always ask if they might could give us an idea of how many days we need to be at the Mayo. They can give a little bit of an idea of how long to plan for.
My husband is retired US Army. We stay a bit away from the Mayo at Mayport Naval Station. About a 20 minute drive most of the time, but high traffic times and construction we allow longer. We have stayed in the Navy Lodge, and each of their two campgrounds. One of the campgrounds has 3 cottages. The campgrounds, but not cottages allow pets. This last time we took Ziggy (my mama's 11 year old mini-poodle we inherited last year). My appointments were all in one day … about 3 hours in the morning and the same in the afternoon. Ziggy did fine and it was his first rv/campground trip. We like going to Mayport Naval Station because we can watch the ships come and go … it is at the junction of the Atlantic and the St John's River. .. and we also like watching people fish from the jetty,
We are also about a 5 hour drive to Jacksonville. We usually go down the day before my appointments. That way we are rested for seeing doctors or NPs, and having test the next day. We usually take a day after appointments for rest too.
I encourage you to download the campus map from the Mayo Jacksonville page. I think the pages give you ideas of where you might want to stay and eat.

Hi @bsrice
I have been to both Rochester and Jacksonville Mayo, in fact I am scheduled back at Jacksonville in Jan. Each time I went I knew my schedule ahead of time and appt timeline. Mayo is really good at scheduling everything close together if they know you are traveling in. I agree to reach out to the scheduling dept or neurology office- they should be able to give you a good idea of how long they expect you there. I have had nothing but great experiences each time I have traveled in. I actually moved to Jacksonville recently so I don’t have to travel into there anymore, but there are several hotels around and some may even give a mayo patient discount if you ask. Best of luck!

Hi bsrice, allow me to call in members who have been to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville like @miriam57 @ees1 @caryns @dazlin @fourof5zs @ess77 and @amandaburnett
I also suggest that you call the Florida appointments coordinator and ask for more details. While things may change during the evaluation period, it would be good to know what you can expect. They should be able to give you more details about your stay.
