Good evening @rivermaya34 Hi Karen, I am responding to your request for information about CBD. It is pretty difficult to predict your sensitivity to CBD. Unfortunately, funds for research on CBD are hard to come by because of the current Federal law which prohibits cannabis in some states. As soon as legalization becomes country-wide, we have to pretty much do our own testing.
I use both tinctures and topical balms to fight neuropathy pain and annoying neuropathic itch. Even when you eliminate the entourage effect of adding THC to CBD there can still be issues. Here are a couple of companies that have been very good for me over the last five years as I sought help for neuropathy from medical cannabis. There is research on Papa and Barkley, as well as CBD without THC and CBD with different ratios of THC. I started with 3:1 CBD:THC. I now use CBD: THC 2:1 for nighttime sleep and a
CBD: THC 3:1 for a relief topical. The P and B site has good, honest information. Leafy is another site with accurate guidelines and explanations.
What is your most urgent need or treatment?
May you be safe, protected, and free of inner and outer harm.
@artscaping My most immediate need is kind of a catch-22, as it is to calm down the hypersensitivity so I can hold a higher quality of functioning during the day and also at night. Pain relief is also right behind that, nausea third. I'll start doing some research with what you've given me. Thank you!
I have found that there is more Canadian research on THC and CBD. Also, if you are in a state or near a state that has legalized marijuana, you should be able to find products that mix the two. I know that’s true for Massachusetts, as well as Vermont for medical marijuana.
@gfisher100 Good morning. I have been using some version of topical ointment with CBD oil for several years. Some work better than others. The only type that is very messy is anything with coconut oil. I am experimenting right now with a 3:1 THC to CBD. It is working very well on hands, wrists, and arms. I also use it on my Myofascial knee problem. I was doubtful at first because of the high concentration of THC. My patient counselor said that it has been delivering good results. Any of the medical marijuana products work better than the lidocaine compounds, for me.
Hello there @bgiddio, I think that post was made in 2018. Let's make sure you have current information. I did and still use medical cannabis as my main pain control medication. I find good, consistent, and reliable tinctures from Papa and Barkley and Care by Design.
What do you want to use it for.......let's make sure we're on the right shelf.

I have suffered for several years with neuropathy pain throughout my body, muscle twitching, arthritis in my feet knees fingers etc but the neuropathy pain is what really gets me most of the time and all these pharmaceutical drugs caused all kinds of severe side effects making it even worse than the symptoms I was dealing with so 6 months ago I started medical marijuana and also using CBD tinctures prescribed by my medical marijuana doctor and I can say that when I use the CBD tincture, and this is not the type that is sold in the stores without a doctor's prescription, these are prescription CBD tincture and medical marijuana that I smoke it alleviates almost all of the neuropathic pain and arthritis pain that I suffer from that's so debilitating. It works and it's a natural herb that grows in the ground and I think more doctors need to utilize this source to help their patients. I know pharmaceutical companies do not make big money off of using medical marijuana because you can actually grow it in your backyard on your own but it does work
You are so fortunate to be able to access medical marijuana!! You go Girl!
Went to my first pain management appt yesterday. She does only procedures, no other pain management techniques. She said I might benefit from a shot of steroids and numbing medicine into the facet joints.
Stopped all THC about 3 months ago so I would not test positive if they did a drug test. No drug test. Still considering if I want to start down this road to alleviate pain in my neck that is bearable but limits the distance I can drive due to seatbelt aggravating neck.
Anyone else? I found a great relief from my pain in the late afternoon and evening by ingesting a 5 Mg THC gummie. Trying to decide if I should continue doing that instead of starting invasive procedures because she basically told me my MRI shows my whole spine is riddled with arthritis.
Medical marijuana was just legalized in AL where I live. Not able to access yet. We buy in Michigan if we are driving back and forth we stock up, but no guidance.
I'm 80 years old and grow my own. Just don't do what I did. I toasted it and added it to chocolate, licking the bowl as I went along and finished it up. Yum! About 90 minutes later i felt so weird and realized i was stoned. It was horrible. I knew it would pass eventually, but, I was essentially paralyzed for 6 hours.

I used it for six months and saw no benefit.
Unfortunately the products with THC are only available in California.

Has anyone had experience using CBD or combination CBDTHC for cold neuropathic feet?
