Thanks for the info. Kudos to you for being in remission. I think I'll just add more almond milk in with my oatmeal and berries. I think I heard someplace that honey mustard was a better bet than just regular mustard. I haven't gone near ketchup because of tomatoes. I've had Italian food but no marinara sauce or lemons, nothing fried., no red meat. It leaves a few choices but none of the old favorites. I've had white pizza. Is that okay? I can't wait to get back to a cup of coffee in the morning, but I'll wait until after my next endoscopy for the go ahead.
I'm currently on 40 mg. daily of pantoprazole, which is supposed to be slightly stronger than omeprazole.
Thanks again for your response to my questions.
Roberta
Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are all highly acidic. I only eat those in a smoothie with almond milk to neutralize the acid. I'm also on 40mg pantaprazole 1/2 hr before supper. I'm going to ask my new GI doc if everything looks good at my next EGD if I can go off it.
@robertatheriveter I can’t imagine why white pizza would be a problem but as with everything you do really need to check with your doctor.
Were you told to avoid cheese? That and a vegetable like spinach is generally all there is on white pizza. I’ve seen apples on it too!

Thanks for your reply. I love pizza and feel like I've gotten a reprieve. Do you know whether cinnamon is a problem? I know it's supposed to be healthy but am not sure whether it's a trigger food for us.
Good luck going off pantaprazole. I take it in the morning one hour after my synthroid, then wait another hour before eating. I was told I cold cut it to a half hour for each hour, but when I can give it the full hour, I do.
I researched cinnamon and it is actually good for us.

As I read about all that have issues with Barrett’s , I don’t see any one that have issue with chest pain with Barrett’s . I have not have acid reflux just pain that feels like I’m having a heart attack, I’ve been in and out of hospital and I have been diagnosed with Barrett’s nothing to do with my heart. Does anyone else have this issue, please let me know. Thanks
@frankieprov1960 I just saw your post about your having chest pain that is not a heart attack. I, also, went to the ER, but no heart attack. Then i was sent to a cardiologist who said that i was having esophageal spasms. They DO feel like heart attacks. The doctor advised me to keep the round red and white (like at Christmas time) mints handy and to suck on it and it would ease the spasm. It worked! I still have them occasionally.

I’m not a doctor, but if all the tests have ruled out a problem, sucking on a mint shouldn’t hurt.. if it works, be sure to let your doctor know. Will you also let me know?
