Possible Rare Condition or Just Chronic Pain?

Earlier, I explained my medical situation concerning my legs. My doctor had ordered MRI and found out that my lower back is slightly swollen. He recommended PT but I've been through that road before and I recieved more of an exercise than concentration on the problem that I had. Totally disappointed. As I had explained, I am taking cholesterol medicine, Provaststin to be exact. And as you mentioned earlier about the "statin"in the name of my medicine, I decided to consult a CVS pharmacist (who happen to be my son) and he informed me that the side effect of this medicine is exactly what I had been experiencing. He recommended that I stop taking the medicine and consult my heart doctor for a replacement and that he will verify whether the new medicine is good. My doctor also recommended me to an Orthopedic Doctor. But I am hesitant seeing an orthopedic doctor. I know that he will probably recomend surgery. I never had any surgury in my life and I am not about to do it now. And since my lower back hurt infrequency. It only hurt when I walk, exercise or do some gardening for hours. I don't need to make any drastic decision.

I am glad to hear you might have found the cause of your pain. Like John, I was prescribed a "statin" due to elevated cholesterol & family heart history, but I remembered all the side effects my Dad had and opted out. My doc supports my exercise/diet/healthy lifestyle plan as a reasonable option. I am so fortunate that she does not push meds...
