I have ten years’ worth of audiograms which I just looked over with Mayo ENT. At first my high frequencies on the left would be worse than the right, then next year would be level. Over time my left got worse more quickly than my right. I don’t yet meet the criteria for having asymmetry, meaning clinically worse on left compared to right. Like you the deficits are in the high frequencies. I will have another audiologist check at Mayo in May. If I come to the point where the asymmetry is bad enough I will have an MRI. I’m not too worried because my speech understanding is good, as measured by the audiologist. In the real world, I judge my speech understanding to be lower than that. Best of luck to you. Remember to keep all your audiograms with a licensed audiologist and avoid loud noises. Technology has improved since I first lost hearing acuity so I’m sure it will for you. Please keep us posted.
