Left hip pain

Posted by shawn2021 @shawn2021, Nov 7, 2021

It was a morning in June 2019, the patient felt a sudden hip pain when he got off bed. Later he received an operation of his left hip join. The operation was considered successful as he recovered gradually and could walk as many as 8000 steps a day. Until one day in 2020, his left hip was injured again because of the left foot landing on the ground from car. Since then, he keeps seeking medical treatments but none of them relieve the hip pain. To date, the patient has been in bed for nearly a year. As his friends, we need to do something for him. Therefore, his unfortunate story was summarized to ask for help from the outside world. Please read the summary regarding the hip pain, medical images, and treatments. It is possible that you will save this kind person from the disease and save the whole family by providing your valuable advice. We together with the patient and his family would be very grateful for your help!!

I can really appreciate what your friend is going through. I have severe osteoporosis and probably osteoarthritis. I have been getting water physical therapy and I am taking Prolia to try to rebuild bone density. I recently started having severe pain in the left hip and now I have it in the right hip as well. It is important to listen to our bodies BUT it is also important to try to do something to keep our bodies in working order. The longer we don't move the worse the pain will be. If your friend has not done PT he should consult his doctor and see if it would be appropriate for him/her to try very gentle physical therapy in a pool if possible. He/she might be able to try walking for a few minutes several times a day at first. Anything his doctor recommends to move. I can guarantee after a year it is going to hurt. That is why it is so important to have professional supervision. I hope he has a good doctor and good PT and insurance. This is a time when good friends might help by spending time with him, going on walks with him, exercising with him. It is boring and discouraging to do this alone and progress is necessarily slow. The more people who can rally behind him and create a network of mutual support the better. I hope this helps.

I am on Prolia to treat osteoporosis. 7 or 8 injections. I definitely have osteoarthritis. Since early 2021 I have had increasing pain in both hips, more the left with pain in upper thigh and lower leg. Has my osteoarthritis worsened because of Prolia? Noticed you are on it as well. Others have reported bad joint/muscle pain as Prolia side effect. Just a comment.
