I have met with a dietitian/nutritionist to discuss a GF diet and cross contamination issues. I will be meeting with an allergist in 2 weeks and am working on setting up a second opinion with a different GI doc. My current GI doc discussed putting me on Pamelor which sounds a little bit scary. I asked about short term use of Prednisolone to calm things down but he was not in favor of that. My GI track is having a hard time settling down. I also asked GI doc about the camera capsule but he was not liking that idea either. I will continue the GF diet but can’t wait for the rib pain, back pain and abdominal cramps to go away!

I was diagnosed with celiac about five years ago and struggled with burning gastrointestinal pain until about 6 months ago. Seems like we tried everything. I finally made an appointment with Mayo Jacksonville gastroenterologist. They did extensive tests and the only thing found was that celiac diet had worked as far as healing intestines, but I did have esophageal spasms. She put me on Pamelor at a very low dose, pepcid and I take that and miralax every day now. Constipation had been an ongoing problem. I am so much better now.
