I had Bard 3D Max Mesh implanted in me in 2017 to fix a inguinal hernia. Moderate to severe pain began in 2019 and that is where I'm at now. I received the standard response from 2 surgeons, go get some physical therapy or go to a pain clinic. It's not the mesh. Guess what, it is the mesh. I am 6' 1", 185lbs, athletic, I run, I lift weights, golf, tennis, bike, I am fit! Sitting is painful, standing up is painful, bending over to tie my shoelaces is painful, driving my car is uncomfortable, severe pain after a round of golf, severe pain doing squats.
No warning about the risks, no education about this implant, heck my initial surgical consult took 20 minutes tops.
I cannot find any surgeon in Charlotte, NC who will admit that the Mesh is the cause of this disaster.
The Cleveland Clinic seems to be the only avenue that I can approach with my problem.
It's your call, good luck.

Hello @1tag, Welcome to Connect. Thanks for sharing your experience with the mesh used to fix a inguinal hernia.
Here's some information you may have already seen that may be helpful -- Laparoscopic mesh removal for otherwise intractable inguinal pain following endoscopic hernia repair is feasible, safe and may be effective in selected patients: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28840390/

Have you looked into mesh removal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic?

Thanks for your response. My research leads me to the only institution that recognizes this issue. How do I start the process? Would nice to talk with someone.
