@loribmt and all....Nope! Not ever here, I'm afraid. Beautiful, my dear. It snowed and stayed overnight in the '80s. We've had 3 good snowfalls and a really wicked ice storm one year in the '70s, No one in Jax knows how to drive in the ice or snow, not really and nor many anyway, so it was a hoot. Most of the city stayed off the streets completely. The bridges over the St. Johns River were all closed down, really dangerous, and might end in the water. It was fun, tho, kind of, but my store was closed and I couldn't get across town to open it for a couple of days One of my staff opened for me as soon as she could get out and about. That, my dear, was a lifetime ago. Our winters are not even winter as you know it.
Today it's in the "80. Have been upstairs all day. Ck'd the feeders several times out the window, but not much activity I saw, except of course my precious pesky squirrels. I must spend more time enjoying the patio. A neighbor one street down called yesterday and came down with a chocolate ice cream cone in hand. We went for a bit of a walk eating the treat and chatting. She lives alone but has a daughter and family in town and sees them often. But, she's lonely. 'Short walk as I couldn't breathe well, but after another friend with her dog joined us, we chatted and I walked back as they went on. They're both in pretty good shape, with normal issues like knees, back, bp, etc. We will do this again soon....
blessings, to all,
elizabeth
Aw, Elizabeth I’m happy you have a walking buddy, even if it’s just for a short jaunt! Gets the blood moving.
Oh my gosh, yes the south is not equipped to handle snow! Happily, that doesn’t happen too often down there. We’ll be heading down the end of this week for 6-8 weeks. Back home for the holidays and then return to Fl to finish out the winter. We’re not near Jacksonville or I’d come visit! Bummer. But we’ll be in the same “state of mind”. Lol Sunny and warm.
