Hi @caryns, So far I’m not finding any information about religious services at Jacksonville either. I’m hoping someone with experience at that campus will pop into the conversation. I do know at the time of my visits in Rochester there were no shortages of spiritual leaders who were always ready and willing to make visits. So I’m anticipating Jacksonville would be no different.

Have you tried calling the Jacksonville campus? General number. 904-953-2000
They may be able to answer that question or put you in contact with someone who will know. Mayo Clinic is very concerned with treating the whole patient so spiritual needs are definitely on their radar.

I’m coming into your conversations a little late regarding your upcoming pancreatic surgery, Nov 10. We have a new member @kyaeger, who will be receiving a pancreatectomy, Nov 8 in Rochester and I think it would be a comfort for both of you to “connect”.

I know you’re feeling very nervous about the surgery and the outcome. But this gives you hope and a positive eye on the future! Please know that you’re in the best possible hands with the surgeon and staff at Mayo in Jacksonville. I’ve put my life into the hands of the exemplary staff in Rochester more than once and it is a comforting feeling to pass all the worry onto them. Just focus on healing and getting your life back on track.

Will you have family staying nearby? What is your recovery time in the hospital?

Yes my husband will be staying in town nearby and my parents who currently live in Florida are trying to make arrangements to come up snd stay. My doctor said the usual stay is 8-10 days but he didn't anticipate me staying longer than a week.

I did have a second question but haven't found info directly related: what are the restrictions on ICU visits in the age of Covid-19? I expect to be in ICU around 24 hours.
