I’ll be at St. Mary’s.
Lodging arrangements made. Staying at Aspen Suites.
I’m just hoping I can eat anything. Lol

Oh good choice on hotels, super convenient right across the street from you. And right next to Canadian Honker…sorry, that won’t do you much good but maybe a daughter can sneak up a piece of that Cocoanut cake for you. mmmm.

I’d laugh with you but oh golly, you have some major surgery ahead. Are you having a complete removal of your pancreas? You’re going to have some diet changes coming up, short and long term, me thinks…

I don’t know what recovery is like for that surgery. Probably liquid the first few days. Have you had a chat with your surgeon yet and what to expect?
The nurses are always able to grab quick snacks for you. The hospital kitchen is closed at 6:30 if I remember, so sometimes with my last meal, knowing I’d need something in the middle of the night, I’d order extra foods to take with my meds. Things like banana bread, Rice Krispie bars (as per my dietitian! I loved her! She just wanted to get calories in me). There’s always cheese sticks, pudding, protein shakes and some healthier snacks available with the nurses. But if you’re having your pancreas out, you’ll be insulin dependent so I’m not sure what you’ll be eating for quick fixes.

Mayo Clinic is so good with providing information pre and post surgery, Have you had discussions about your dietary changes and medications you’ll be taking like pancreatic enzymes?
