Taking a Lower Dose of Tamoxifen?

Posted by vivi1 @vivi1, Oct 6, 2021

Given the risk of endometrial cancer from tamoxifen, which apparently increases with dosage, length of use, and the age of the patient, is anyone taking a lower dose in order to extend adherence and soften side effects?

I am very impressed that the cancer stayed away for 29 years . I learned that D3 is enhanced by K2..

I would love to address a few issues coming up here. Firstly, no one really restricts your experience but there are many people who read our posts and encouraging people to take things that may or may not be proven helpful could lead them to harm. Mayo does believe in integrated medicine but only for things that are PROVEN, to be safe and effective. Not just by the company who promotes it. The second thing I would like to address is the use of antidepressants. Cancer is hard! It is harder for some than others, antidepressants have many uses. Help for sleep, help for some side effects to the drugs that might be saving our lives, and sometimes just to help us cope with cancer and all the other things that might be going on in our lives as well. Being dismissive of this really isn’t helpful for anyone. If you don’t want to take them, that is a personal choice, think cost vs benefit. But please do not make divisive comments here. This is a community where we really want to come together and be helpful in a supportive and respectful way.

A couple question :
When have you start to feel side effects from Tamoxifen?
Days, months. Years?
Talking about natural
approach-I learn about Mistletoe
injection to prevent cancer return.I am going to integrated holistic oncology treatment centre, and will discuss this and yours info.
I am in Canada and the holistic medicine can be (if available) acquire only through
designated doctors
By the way, to communicate our thoughts and experience , shouldn’t be restricted!
That is the nature of this group
And our depression shouldn’t be treated by med.
The individual treatment approach would help to reduce depression.

So I was put on tamoxifen in March while still going thru targeted chemo so I assumed I was feeling yucky due to chemo but when chemo ended in June I just kept feeling worse and worse. Extreme fatigue , lots of aches and pains , crying all the time , eating like a monster and looking pregnant I didn’t feel this bad during chemo so finally it dawned on me last week it’s tamoxifen and oncologist agreed.
You’re right. We are here to support each other !!
I have also heard great things about mistletoe!! But haven’t found a dr that administers.
I just read an awesome article about Berberine !! My intergrative oncologist really liked it and thought it was good to take it.

I bring this up not create division but to prevent it. The comments about our comments being restricted. They really aren’t restricted but if there is a case of something being harmful, then it could end up being moderated or deleted. I was trying to point out that it wasn’t really an issue unless there was a risk of harm to someone else who might read it. Since these are public pages and not private message, I was very surprised when I learned how many people read them that are not commenting, but they might be gathering health info.
Also there seemed to be some some growing animosity toward antidepressants. Again, there are many people who read these posts and every persons situation is different and I just wanted to point out there are a lot of different reason that it might be taken. I would hate to have harm to someone reading who might be taking hem or needing them. Personally I took them during treatments, and I am taking them again, they are very helpful to me.
The coaching I have received has all been about working to create community, not divide it. I apologize if my comments sounded harsh, they weren’t meant in any way angry.
