I am interested in opinions about my husband beginning to take the big 3. He has severe COPD, Bronchiectasis, a left lower lobe collapsed lung, he is on oxygen, he is an anemic, weight is down to 114, diabetes type 2, which does not cause him any problems and heart disease with one stint. I wonder if he is strong enough to begin the treatment. However, ID doctor ordered the prescriptions and wants him to begin Monday.
@suzie2017 what were the criteria the Dr used to determine he should start on big 3?? what about sputum specimens...what did they show?? what did chest CAT scan show? tdrell
MAC was confirmed with two sputum cultures which were sent to Colorado and a bronchochial washing from being bronchoscope. The washings were also sent to CO. All confirmed MAC
@suzi2017 Hi Suzie. Well, that is not news we like to hear. What next?
@alleycatkate, Hey, you added your pic! Nice to see your smiling face. I am not so sure about starting a Face Book page for MAC. Because we have this Connect group here where more and more people seek support. I need to be here for them. I will speak with the moderator for this group to see if we can modify or learn to make following my posts here easier. I know there is a way. I am still learning to be tech savvy myself. Will get answers.
