Success stories: Reverse shoulder replacement surgery

Posted by basslakebabe19 @basslakebabe19, Feb 17, 2020

Last week, I had a reverse shoulder replacement procedure on my left shoulder. It was very painful the first day. After that, it feels pretty darn good!

I was given a nerve block that lasted 4 days and after that all I took was Tylenol extra strength.

Good evening @681. Thanks so very much for your post to let us know of the successful results with your "reverse shoulder replacement." I also had a reverse after trying two other surgeries. I had real difficulty getting insurance to be helpful and supportive and went through a failed rotator cuff repair as well as a cadaver graft. Both were more painful than the actual reverse.

I am very lucky to be pain-free and to have pretty reasonable use of the shoulder.
Are you using an ice machine on your shoulder? How are you sleeping? Do you have a way of being comfortable and still keep your shoulder well positioned? Have you begun PT? What exercises are you using at this point?

May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris

Never used an ice machine. I slept in a recliner for about 2 months and was comfortable. Now sleeping in my bed and doing pretty good.
