Has anyone taken Forteo and if so what were the side effects if any and or has anyone been satisfied with the results of haven taken Forteo. I am about to start either Forteo or Tymlos.

I've been on Forteo for a month. I have not really had much in side effects. I would get a rash about the size of a quarter at the injection site for several hours injecting but that is getting slightly smaller now. I didn't have any other side effects....but, the last few days the injection site "feels" a bit irritated for a couple hours after injecting. I'm not sure if I can really feel it or my imagination or perhaps I just have to get used to the injections (I have had so many, many injections during my life that I have a significant needle aversion). The needles are quite small, btw.

I did a two year regimen of Forteo. The results were a 12.8% gain in spine and 5% gain in hip. Never had side effects, but I did my injections just before bed. Figured if any dizziness happened (like some people reported) I’d already be lying down). Only occasionally would I get a bruise at the injection site. The injections themselves were virtually painless, fast and easy. The only drawback I can see is having to keep the Forteo refrigerated, but I found a perfect Thermos with cooler pack that could keep it cold for at least 36 hours. Good luck in your choice. It worked for me!

I started Forteo about 3 weeks ago. I initially got nauseated a few hours after the injection. I took it at night so it would wake me up and I started keeping Pepto by the bed to calm down my stomach.

BUT AFTER 2 WEEKS, I suddenly had a whole host of side effects sweep in including chills, fever, body aches, bone aches in my legs, constant nausea and headache. All I could do is go to bed and shiver.

I stopped the injections for 3 days and the side effects went away. I have just resumed the injections and plan to do them only every other night for a while to see if I the side effects will be less dramatic and if they will subside after a time. NO FUN...but I have no choice. I have to use the medication for at least 6 months.
