Chronic pain and medical marijuana

Posted by ladyjane85 @ladyjane85, Jul 16, 2016

A nurse friend tried me on marijuana oil smoked in an electronic pen since nothing works with my pain under everything pain management has tried. I did not respond - can one be immune to it as I am with all procedures on my back and all pain relievers

Hi. I only use tinctures that are 1:1 CBD:THC. I only use them at home for pain and/or sleep, and wouldn’t drive for at least 10 hours. But there’s less of a hangover than with traditional sleep medications. I was using 100mg for each, but now can only find 50:50 (for about the same price). The first one came in oil, but now they’re water-based and supposedly taste better. (I haven’t tried them yet). They do have expiration dates on them, but I have used the oil ones for longer than the date.

Thanks for sharing this! I am currently only using CBD as I have an appointment with a pain management doctor coming up. I was concerned that he would see from a urinalysis that I had THC in my system and refuse to treat me.

It’s always good to take a break as tolerance builds and more is needed for the same effect for pain relief. It takes a while to leave your body, according to Mayo Clinic Proceedings, it can take up to 30 days for a negative urine test for chronic users (multiple times daily), less for those who use it occasionally, or moderately. Hair testing can detect THC for up to 90 days!

My pain has been less severe the past week or so, thankfully, and now I have to reschedule my doctor appointment as we are in another state waiting for a grandchild to be born and he’s late!

Thanks! That was so helpful! I need to try the tinctures again. Have been using a 1:1 or 3:1 THC:CBD vape depending on time of day and pain. Smoke Indica a bit before bed or take Indica heavy gummies if I remember ! I live in CT and have my MMJ card.
I take 3300 mg Gabapentin and Tramadol for breakout pain that I get severly in one toe especially. So tied of this and not knowing what caused it!

I just heard about pharmacogenetic testing. How do I get it? I have so many allergies to meds and meds that don’t work. I am very interested

To @afibber bec I do not respond to all the pain meds one can think of, and
even needle procedures for my chronic back pain, I was recently tried by a
medical person, on an electric smoker with oil of marijuana. I tried it
under a controlled circumstance with this medical person watching over me.
Having never inhaled a cigarette I had a hard time - coughing, and hurt
with burning in throat.
Finally inhaled about 3x's with no reaction. In the evening again, 4x's I
cannot get a reaction. I am apparently immune to this the same as strong
meds. Cannot get rid of pain. Looked it up on cmptr and found that some are
immune to it. Imagine my surprise. Medical marijuana pills are very
expensive when I looked it up, and I can see it would do no good.
@ladyjane85

This might sound crazy but have you tried red light therapy? Takes awhile to start working but it does help.
Also keep in mind your brain is your most powerful tool against the pain!
