My husband is 2 years post diagnosis for high grade muscle invasive urothelial cell carcinoma. Located in a pouch off the bladder, he had a partial bladder removal, just the pouch, Chemo for months after, then on to BCG in the bladder. He tolerated Cisplatin and Gemcytobine well but the BCG did not control the tumor regrowth in the bladder. He has had 4 TURBT surgeries in the last year and a half and luckily each time the masses had not invaded the muscle of the bladder wall. He spent the last 5 months on Keytruda, but still had a tiny new bladder growth in July. He has decided to have the bladder removed and a neobladder surgery with his surgeon at Mayo, Dr, Karnes. He wants to avoid an ostomy if at all possible, and building a new bladder out of small intestine is an option. I would love to hear from anyone who knows someone who has had this surgery.

I think @pameladstone @kwagner @madebacco may have experiences with a neobladder to share with you.

Sue, when is surgery scheduled for?
