I’m new here and need to figure out food to
eat with autoimmune PBC. I’m not a big veggie eater and looks like I need LOW fat, salt and sugar. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi Gema, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. You might like to connect with other members living with autoimmune Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) in this discussion, including @rosemarya. She may also have some diet tips.

@gema98, Welcome to Connect. I am happy that Colleen tagged me to this discussion about meals. When I was first diagnosed with liver disease, my doctor's advice was to maintain a healthy life style with healthy diet and physical activity. He encouraged me to do this by making some lifestyle changes
There was not a specific 'diet' or recipe file. My life changes included less red meat and changes in food preparation. I made small changes and followed his suggestion of - moderation.
Heart Healthy is the term for my dietary choices.

Gema, What has your doctor told you? Has he told you to avoid alcohol, over-the-counter meds and supplements?
